A defining characteristic for so much accommodation in Malawi is the personal touch. In so many beautiful locations around the country there is a feeling that you are visiting friends - some old, some new. Often the friends are the lodge owner and sometimes it is the manager, watchman, staff who greet you like a friend. Malawi's has so much beauty and variety but is at the same time so far from the madding crowds. This means that the numbers of visitors is small and hospitality at the guest house or cottage or mountain hut cannot be anything other than personal.
But how do you choose where to go? We have created a page on pinterest with hundreds of images of places to stay, organised by geographical location. If you scroll through 'Places to Stay In Malawi' you will be able to get a flavour for what the different options look like.
We at 'Malawi Places' know many many places in Malawi so please do not hesitate to get in touch and ask us by writing to info [at] esafrican dot com. We would be happy to help and give our views. There are three places we work with in particular: Nanchengwa Lodge on the southern lakeshore, Fat Monkeys at Cape Maclear and Bushman's Baobabs at Liwonde National Park. But please have a look to see the places that suit you the best.
